Gene & Jude's Review
2720 River Rd River Grove, IL 60171
#1 in the country! That’s right, the top rated hot dog in the nation is located in River Grove, right next to Hala Kahiki. These dogs taste amazing whether you’re tipsy or sober and hungry. Here’s a tip: eat the hot dog with the fries in it.
Loyal to Chicago tradition, Gene’s & Jude’s does not serve ketchup....

2834 River Road River Grove, IL
If you’re into a more relaxed bar scene; enjoy odd, Hawaiian decor; or secretly love fruity and colorful drinks, but don’t want your buddies to know, then Hala Kahiki is the place to go. Located in River Grove, Hala Kahiki will take you to a tropical paradise even in the dead of winter.
There’s a few things you should know about this...

The Doughnut Vault Review
400 1/2 N Franklin Chicago, IL 60654 Neighborhoods: Near North Side, River North
Light, fluffy, fresh, and delicious. If these words appeal to you then Doughnut Vault is right for you. The lines are long, and you have to get there early before they sell out, but it’s totally worth it. When they sell out they’re done for the day, so try to get there before they’re...

kellyfromthecity2 asked: For the sandwich enthusiast, or heck, anyone who likes eating amazing sandwiches, I highly recommend Ba Le, which is a French-influenced Vietnamese style sandwich shop on Broadway and Argyle. They have a huge variety of sandwiches, but they're all delicious.
girlwithcake asked: Whenever I'm in Chicago (or actually anywhere within 100 miles of it), I swing by (or go out of my way for) delicious vegan/vegetarian cuisine from The Chicago Diner. This has been a tradition since before I committed to being a vegetarian, because this food is just ridiculously incredible, which is usually a distinction I reserve for food that contains bacon...... check 'em out if you...

The Athenian Room Review
807 W Webster Ave (between Dayton St & Halsted St) Chicago, IL 60614
Opa! If you want some amazing Greek food for a good price, the Athenian Room is the place to go. Not only is this restaurant one of our favorite places to chow down, but it is also endorsed by Tina Fey! It’s just that good.
There are 2 major reasons this restaurant is so popular.
1.) Kalamata Chicken

jpobocan asked: You guys should hit up Tiny Lounge 4352 N Leavitt Ave , in North Center, for some Tiny Burgers & Truffle Fries. It's so good! So, so good! p.s. i may be biased because i used to work there, but i miss the food so much!
dannytomkins asked: Have you been to Fat Johnnie's Famous Red Hots on 73rd and Western? They got these this thing called "The Mighty Dog" and it's truly an abomination against all laws of nature.
Thank you all for your suggestions! We’ve been following them and have not been disappointed by any of these restaurants. Apparently Chicagoans have great taste in food! Pun intended.

Xoco Review
449 N Clark St Chicago, IL 60654
South American cuisine and sandwiches…mmmmm. Xoco (pronounced Cho-Ko) is moderately priced and extremely delicious, not to mention it’s owned by the famous Rick Bayless. The sandwiches/ tortas are wood grilled and the drinks are amazing. We recommend you try the cucumber, lemonade and lime drink because it’s very refreshing.
We tried...
wikiradical-deactivated20130222 asked: Hey- you guys should head over to Yummy Yummy Asian Cuisine (2901 N Broadway) for some delicious food and awesome bubble teas- as well as a wide selection of some of the tastiest vegan food I've ever tried.
rhapsodyoflia asked: I hope you tried my other suggestions, but here's some more: Spacca Napoli (the owner had the bricks for the pizza oven shipped from Italy), Pannenkoeken Cafe (Dutch pancakes, cute place, adorable chef), Urban Belly (ramen with a kick).
Happy eating!!

Hot Doug’s needs no introduction. If you’re a Chicagoan and haven’t eaten here, shame on you. Out of towners will eventually hear its name from the Food Network. Most of you have probably heard of this place, so we’ll just cut to the chase…
So many wieners, so many choices,...

Lawrence Fish Market Review
3914 W Lawrence Ave (between Harding Ave & Springfield Ave) Chicago, IL 60625
Lawrence Fish Market may look like a dump, but don’t be put off by its rustic decor. This place contains some of the best sushi in the city, and we’ve tried a LOT of sushi.
First you should know a couple of things about this place; it’s small, it’s takeout only, and they serve...

cocobeane asked: I'm a huge fan of cheap, tasty Mexican food that doesn't make your guts explode, and I highly recommend Flaco's Tacos. It's in the south loop, but they're currently working on a second location near Loyola's water tower campus. Their tacos (with onion, cilantro, and lime, in a corn tortilla) are $2.50 each, and their guac is also pretty tasty...plus they make their...
icaninsideneon asked: This blog is so great! My boyfriend and I are big foodies (we both go to the University of Chicago), and we love to go into the city for two places to eat: Fogo de Chao and The Chicago Diner. thedayisbrave asked: Italian Village is great! I just went there last weekend with a few friends. The atmosphere is wonderful, decorated like an Italian courtyard with a starry sky, and the food was delicious. Definitely try it!
sourcrepes asked: Try Stellas, on Barry/Broadway in Lakeview. The owner and his wife are the coolest people, and the egg skillets are a-mazing. I seriously ate three in one week, it was kind of a problem. Also, they have great shakes, I had the butterfinger one last time, mm mm mm.
n1namar13 asked: Sushi Samba on N. Wells is amazing. It's a brazilian and japanese fusion restaurant. I went there for my birthday last year. So yummy and the inside looks amazing. The only downside is that it's kind of expensive, but it's worth it! You have to check it out, Ate! :)
mattislike-deactivated20110320- asked: Italian Village, have you guys been? My friend's been trying to get me to go for a while now and my curiousity has been peaked recently.
pineboxes asked: If you love burgers and good beer, I'd check out Bar On Buena. It's at Broadway and Buena in Buena Park. The burger isn't as awesome as Kumas, but it's a definite close favorite. Their kitchen can only fit 2 people, their beer menu is ever-changing and awesome, and 70 different kinds of whiskey. I recommend the B.O.B burger with Red Dragon Cheddar, Pancetta and a Fried egg or...
failurefascination asked: Clarke's on Belmont. I eat there more than I probably should. The North Shore potatoes are amazing. And they have the best cherry coke in the city.

Ethiopian Diamond II Review
7537 N Clark St. Chicago, IL 60626
If you want to try some exotic (and delicious) Ethiopian cuisine this is the place to go. The food is tasty and great quality and the service is superb. We try to make it out here every couple of months to gorge, but will stop by more often for a pot of their roasted coffee. Also, their coffee is the best coffee we have ever had!

Mario's Italian Lemonade Review
1068 W Taylor St. Chicago, IL 60607
Hands down, Mario’s has THE BEST Italian Lemonade we have ever had. In fact, they probably have one of the most refreshing concoctions ever known to man. Jonathan would go here every day, but the problem is they’re only open during the summer.
This place is dirt cheap, so sometimes we’d make a trip during lunch and after dinner....
